PDF Pocket Tools is designed to process PDF documents locally on your device. We do not upload your PDF documents, captured document images, or saved signatures to our own servers.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Pocket Tools (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our Android application.

The App helps users work with PDF files, capture images using the device camera, and save hand-drawn signatures locally on the device for reuse. This policy also explains how third-party services used in the App may collect or process information.

2. Data Collected

Data processed locally by the App

The App may process the following content locally on your device:

  • PDF files selected, created, edited, or exported by you
  • Images captured with your camera or selected from your device
  • Hand-drawn signatures created and saved by you
  • App settings and preferences
  • Output files generated by the App, such as edited or signed PDFs

This content is processed locally to provide the App’s PDF tools and related features. We do not upload your PDF documents, document images, or saved signatures to our own servers.

Data collected by third-party services

The App uses third-party services that may automatically collect certain information for advertising, analytics, diagnostics, fraud prevention, app performance, and crash reporting. These services may collect information such as:

  • Device information, such as device model, operating system version, language, and app version
  • App usage information, such as feature usage, sessions, interactions, and general activity within the App
  • Advertising identifiers or app instance identifiers, where applicable
  • IP address
  • Crash logs, diagnostic information, performance data, and technical error information

The exact information collected may depend on your device, Android version, app settings, consent choices, and the configuration of the third-party services.

3. How We Use Information

We use information processed by the App to:

  • Open, edit, merge, split, compress, annotate, sign, or otherwise process PDFs
  • Capture images for use in PDF-related features
  • Save signatures locally so you can reuse them
  • Save user preferences and improve the App experience
  • Display advertisements
  • Understand general app usage and improve features
  • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues
  • Maintain the security, reliability, and functionality of the App

We do not sell your PDF documents, captured images, or saved signatures.

4. Permissions

Camera

The App may request camera access so you can capture images, scan documents, or add images to PDFs. Camera images are processed locally on your device unless you choose to share or export them using another app or service.

Storage, Photos, Media, or File Access

The App may request access to files, photos, media, or storage so you can select PDFs, import images, save edited files, export documents, or access files you choose to work with.

The App only accesses files that you select or that are needed for the PDF features you use, subject to Android’s permission and file-access controls.

Internet and Network Access

The App may use internet access for third-party services such as AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Internet access may be used to load ads, send analytics events, transmit crash reports, check service configuration, and support app functionality.

5. Saved Signatures

PDF Pocket Tools allows you to create and save hand-drawn signatures for reuse. Saved signatures are stored locally on your device. We do not upload saved signatures to our own servers.

You are responsible for controlling access to your device and any files or signatures stored on it. Anyone who can access your device or app data may be able to access locally stored signatures, depending on your device settings and security protections.

You can delete saved signatures from within the App where this feature is available, or by clearing the App’s data through Android system settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services provided by Google.

Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, app interaction data, diagnostic information, and other data needed to provide, personalize, measure, and improve ads, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may be shown a consent message or privacy choices related to personalized ads and data processing.

Firebase Analytics

The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App and to improve functionality, performance, and user experience. Firebase Analytics may collect app usage events, device information, identifiers, and other analytics-related information.

Firebase Crashlytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and stability issues. Crashlytics may collect crash reports, stack traces, device information, app version, operating system information, identifiers, and diagnostic data related to crashes or errors.

Google Privacy Practices

Google’s collection, use, and sharing of information through AdMob and Firebase are governed by Google’s own privacy policies and service terms. We encourage you to review Google’s privacy policy and Firebase privacy documentation for more information.

7. Children’s Privacy

PDF Pocket Tools is not intended for children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age required by applicable law in your country.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

If the App is later made available to children or included in a child-directed category, we will update this Privacy Policy and our data practices as required by applicable laws and Google Play policies.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the App. PDF documents, captured images, and saved signatures are intended to remain on your device unless you choose to share, export, back up, or upload them using another app or service.

However, no method of storage or electronic transmission is completely secure. You should protect your device with appropriate security measures, such as a screen lock, encryption, and secure backups.

9. User Controls

You can control your data in several ways:

  • You can choose which PDFs, images, and files to open or process in the App.
  • You can choose whether to grant or deny Android permissions, such as camera or file access.
  • You can delete saved signatures from within the App where available.
  • You can delete exported PDFs or files using your device’s file manager.
  • You can clear the App’s data or uninstall the App through Android system settings.
  • You can reset or limit your advertising ID through Android or Google settings, where available.
  • You can manage ad personalization and privacy choices through Google settings or consent prompts shown in the App, where applicable.

If you deny certain permissions, some App features may not work properly.

10. Data Sharing

We do not share your PDF documents, captured document images, or saved signatures with our own servers.

Information may be shared with third-party services used in the App, including Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, as described in this Privacy Policy. These services may process information for purposes such as advertising, analytics, crash reporting, diagnostics, security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

11. Data Retention

PDF documents, captured images, exported files, and saved signatures are stored locally on your device for as long as you keep them there.

You can delete local files and saved signatures at any time using the App’s available controls, your device’s file manager, or Android system settings.

Third-party services such as AdMob and Firebase may retain data according to their own policies and service terms.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
